SYDNEY SWANS TICKERTAPE PARADE FRIDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2005 Departs cnr George & Alfred Streets at 12 noon, runs along George St, arrives Town Hall at 12.30 pm with official proceedings and concludes at 1 pm
Sydney is putting the final touches on the triumphant Sydney Swans AFL Grand Final champions Victory Parade hosted by The NSW Premier, Morris Iemma, and Lord Mayor, Clover Moore.
"This team's never-say-die attitude resulted in a truly historic victory that people from all around NSW have taken a great deal of pride in. They are deserved AFL champions and their achievement deserves to be recognised and celebrated in style," said The Premier. "Sydney is very proud of the achievement of the Swans and I urge Sydneysiders to show their appreciation at this special parade," Ms Moore said. It is an opportunity for the public to show their appreciation of the Team and celebrate their success. Parade organisers are encouraging people to join in the celebrations and cheer the team in their best red and white gear. The Team will be officially welcomed at Sydney Town Hall by The Premier of NSW, The Hon. Morris Iemma and Sydney Lord Mayor, Clover Moore MP.
