MEDIA CALL: Former London Mayor previews City Talk
15 September 2009
Former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, Sydney's Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP and UTS Urban Transport Lecturer Dr Garry Glazebrook will preview tomorrow night's free City Talk event during a media conference on Wednesday 16 September at 11am.
The media conference will be held on Level 3, Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street Sydney. The three speakers will be part of a free City of Sydney City Talk from 6.30pm to 8pm at the State Theatre, 49 Market Street, Sydney tomorrow night, Wednesday 16 September. The event is sold out, however any unclaimed tickets will be re-issued from the State Theatre Box Office once the City Talk has commenced.
Mr Livingstone was elected Mayor of London in 2000 and was responsible for the groundbreaking introduction of the congestion charge. His policies centred on creating a sustainable London in the face of global warming. The City of Sydney's Sustainable Sydney 2030 plan calls for better public transport, less cars and more walking and cycling - and has some similarities with Livingstone's London achievements.
